On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing 5 food cures for migraines, allergies, muscle soreness, anxiety, and acid reflux.
If you’re suffering from any of these ailments, you may be able to improve these issues using nature’s medicine, food.
Before we get into it, in the comments below, let me know if you are on Twitter, and what you Twitter name is.

My main dude Hippocrates said it best, “let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.”.
Brilliant.
But here’s a disclaimer Live Leaners.
I’m not telling you to stop taking your doctor’s prescribed medication.
Listen to your doctor.
So I asked on our Live Lean TV Facebook page, “what common ailments do you suffer from?”.
The most common responses were:
So let’s get right into the 5 food cures migraines, allergies, muscle soreness, anxiety, and acid reflux.
The Center for Disease Control says at least 21% of women and 10% of men suffer from regular migraine headaches.
In some cases, migraine headaches can be caused by consuming foods, drinks, or additives that you are intolerant too.
In other words, you just may not have the sufficient levels of certain enzymes to breakdown and properly digest that food or drink.
Unfortunately, these intolerances can take up to 12 hours after consuming the food to occur.
Because of this lag in time, it’s best to talk to a naturopathic doctor and request a food intolerance test.
I had a food intolerance test done, and they’ll typically give you a list of common foods, along with your level of intolerance to them.
It’s a simple blood test and it’s pretty quick to do.
To get more magnesium, CoQ10, and riboflavin in your diet, add more of the following foods.
Foods high in magnesium include:
If you’re unsure if you’re getting enough magnesium in your diet, I recommend you take a simple home micronutrient test to see if you’re deficient.

Foods high in CoQ10 include:
To get more riboflavin, hook yourself up with some:
Both of these vegetables are known to be high in vitamin B2.
Lastly, we can’t move on until we talk about dehydration.
A lot of people get headaches because they don’t get enough water, or they’re not getting the right amount of food, with high water content.
Make sure you’re drinking lots of water, and eating foods that contain a high water content, including:
All right, let’s move on to food allergies.
Unfortunately, there are no cures to allergies yet, so you just have to avoid consuming allergenic foods.
Your goal is to seek help from a professional, like a naturopath, to identify the type of food allergies you have, then remove those foods from your diet.
If you’re not familiar with the top 8 allergenic foods, they are:
In most countries, food manufacturers are required by law to list on the food label package, if any of their food contains these potential food allergens.
Always read the labels.
Muscle soreness is typically caused by inflammation.
When you go to the gym, you are tearing down your muscle and creating inflammation in your body.
Try eating more foods high in antioxidants to reduce this inflammation in your muscles.
In your post-workout protein shake, I want you loading up on the following antioxidant rich foods:
If you have anxiety, focus on drinking green tea, or herbal teas such as chamomile tea, to help you relax.
Also, foods high in omega-3s, such as salmon, and foods high in choline, such as eggs, have been shown to help lower anxiety.
Let’s move on to the last one.
Similar to the food allergies segment, you have to avoid and replace the foods that are triggering your acid reflux, such as deep fried fatty foods.
Focus more on whole foods, such as:
In other words, real whole food.
Here’s the bottom line Live Leaners.
If you’re suffering from any of these issues, talk to your naturopath or doctor, to see if you can get tested for certain food intolerances.
Then, it’s simple.
Test by removing these foods from your diet, then adding them back in to see if those are the foods that you are intolerant too.
Of course, focus your diet on eating plants and animals, especially foods that contain one ingredient, like the over 200 recipes found in my paleo-approved Eat Clean Live Lean cookbook system.
When you commit to using the recipes in my Eat Clean Live Lean cookbook, you’re going to feel incredible.
You can also get an 8 week meal plan, with recipes, and grocery lists to supercharge your results faster.
It’s amazing the tasty snacks and meals you can come up with, using all real healthy ingredients.
I pity those “dieters” ruining their sustainable chances of Living Lean by eating boring foods.
