How Often Should You Train Abs?

What’s the best frequency for Ab Workouts?

Should abs be trained Every day? Rarely? or Several times per week?

If you are working on sculpting and defining your midsection, you may be wondering how often you should be following ab workouts?

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m recommending a frequency between 1 to 4 times per week for DIRECT ab training.

When you are following our Live Lean TV programs, you’ll be training your Abs INDIRECTLY with all the other exercises you are doing.

It is important to train your abs directly, but it’s also important to allow them some recovery time between workouts.

Direct Ab Training does not need to be done more than 4 times per week.

If you are in transformation mode (seeking a change in your abs) I recommend training your abs directly every-other-day.

Defining and Toning your abs requires a combination of direct and indirect ab training paired with proper nutrition.

Once you melt off stubborn body fat via your fat loss program you’ll reveal the tone and definition you’ve created with your direct ab training.

Direct Ab Training is when you are doing exercises specifically focused on contracting your core and ab muscles

For example: A Sit Up is a direct ab exercise.

Indirect Ab Training is every other exercise that requires core engagement or stabilization.
