How Do You Decide What To Workout

Here’s today’s viewer question:

Rosalind from Snapchat asks: I’ve been working out constantly and following a clean and lean diet. I am very happy with how I look now, minus my tummy and inner thighs, which seem to be holding all my fat. Do you have any advice for inner thigh fat and tummy fat? I get married in 3 months and want to look amazing. I have been Living Lean for over 2 years now, but it’s still those problem areas that I can’t shift. Many thanks to you both.

First off, even though people may have trouble zones and spot problems, there is no such thing as spot reduction.

Spot Reduction. Myth or Truth?

There is a difference between spot shaping and spot reduction

You can shape specific muscles with targeted exercises.

However you can’t spot reduce by targeting specific areas of your body for fat loss.

For example, if you’re looking to build muscle in your biceps, you can obviously train your biceps directly with bicep curls.

Maximize Your Bicep Curl Form For More Gains

But if you’re looking to lose fat in your biceps, bicep curls do not specifically target bicep fat.

Fat loss occurs for your entire body, not just specific areas.

The solution to trouble zones

The solution to problem areas, like inner thigh fat and tummy fat, is to follow a total body holistic approach.

You said you’re eating a clean diet and working out consistently for 2 years.

However, my question would be: what kind of progress have you made in those 2 years?

If there hasn’t been much progress, it probably means the approach you’re taking, isn’t quite right for your goals.

Just because your diet is “clean and lean” and you’ve been working out constantly, it doesn’t mean that it’s intense enough to make a change in your body.

Maybe you need to make some diet changes.

Turn Your Body Into A Fat Burning Machine For Life [Improve Insulin Sensitivity]

For example, some people’s bodies are more carbohydrate and insulin sensitive than others.

Other people may have a slower or faster metabolism.

So if you’ve been stuck with the same physique for 2 years, and you’re not happy with it, that’s a really big sign that behavioral things need to change.

Try switching up your diet and workouts.

You can do this by following a program designed for your goals.

Also, it’s time to get real.

What does a “clean and lean diet” mean to you?

When you say you’re eating a “clean and lean diet”, what does that actually mean?

For example, what could be considered a “clean and lean diet” to you, may not be that to a professional coach.

If you had a coach to look at your diet, they should be able to pick and tweak things that may not be right for your goals.

A good example could be your coach points to the fact that your “protein bar”, that you eat every day, contains 50,000 chemicals and ingredients in it.

This is probably not helping you lose weight.

Rapid Weight Loss That Lasts!

But a coach should never just give you a guilt trip that, “you shouldn’t be eating that”.

A good coach should say, “your results will be better if you ate this instead”.

It’s not necessarily that anything is wrong with your diet, it just might not be the right diet, for the results you’re looking for.

For example, even though you’re eating “clean and lean”, you still may be in a calorie surplus, without knowing it.

This can cause you to hold on to inner thigh fat and tummy fat.

Trouble zones could also be due to other lifestyle factors

Tummy fat is often associated with the excessive production of the cortisol hormone.

This hormone is associated with stress and poor sleep habits.

Improving these lifestyle factors can also help combat tummy fat.

When it comes to inner thigh fat, this trouble zone may also be caused by excessive production of the hormone estrogen.

Bottom line on our advice for inner thigh fat and tummy fat

Your trouble zones could be caused by many different issues.

So it sounds like you need more specific advice from a coach.

A coach can work with you and look at exactly what you’re doing.

Working with a coach, 1 on 1, is going to be your best bet.

Especially if you feel like you’ve done everything, but you’re still stuck.

Sometimes you just need that 1 on 1 attention for someone to look into you and your specific situation.

That can be a game changer if you have the budget for it, and are serious about getting results.
