On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing a delicious, superpowered strawberry nut protein yogurt recipe for weight loss, that will keep you feeling full, so you eat less calories throughout the day.

A few days ago I did a post on is yogurt good for weight loss.

In that video, I compared 5 different yogurt options, including:

  • strawberry diary yogurt
  • plain, no fat, greek yogurt
  • vanilla almond yogurt
  • plain almond yogurt
  • unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • pure unsweetened living coconut yogurt

Each of these yogurts fell somewhere on the health spectrum of unhealthy to healthy.

However, I wouldn’t consider any of them a great snack option for weight loss.

They either contained unhealthy ingredients, or were missing key macronutrients, or just tasted bad on their own.

Plus, who really gets full off of eating a 100 calorie yogurt?

I classify foods that are good for weight loss as those:

  • High in protein
  • Contain healthy fat
  • Good source fiber
  • No added sugar
  • Whole food ingredients

So today, I want to show you how to turn your boring yogurt, into a delicious superpowered protein snack that is great for weight loss.

  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein Powder
  • 1 tbsp flax seed
  • 1 tbsp sliced almonds
  • 3 sliced strawberries

  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein Powder
  • 1 tbsp flax seed
  • 1 tbsp sliced almonds
  • 3 sliced strawberries

Instructions
  1. Add 1 cup of unsweetened coconut yogurt to a bigger bowl. The bowl I started with was too small as you’ll need room to add the protein powder.
  2. Add 1 scoop of vanilla whey isolate protein powder, then stir it up well with a fork or whisk until it's completely creamy.
  3. Add 1 tbsp of ground flax seeds on top.
  4. Add 1 tbsp of sliced almonds.
  5. Top with 3 sliced fresh strawberries.
  6. Take a bite and yell, DAMN that’s good!

Why a 344 calorie snack is an excellent yogurt recipe for weight loss

And yes, I know 344 calories for yogurt may seem high, especially for weight loss, but remember, weight loss is not just about eating as little calories as possible.

Sustainable weight loss is what’s really important.

And this is accomplished by eating in a calorie deficit, while making the most of the calories that you do have to eat.

You do this by eating foods high in protein, foods high in fat, and foods high fiber, as this is what helps keep you feeling full, longer.

That way, you eat less calories throughout the day.

Again, the key to dieting is making the most of the calories you have, not eating low calorie foods.
