Brad: We really don’t marinate our chicken all that often, however we do have a few recipes on Team Live Lean where we marinate them, including this Chinese Chicken Skewers recipe.

  • 4 chicken breasts (diced into cubes)
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp tamari sauce
  • dash Black Pepper
  • dash Cinnamon
  • dash ground ginger
  • dash ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup almond flour

  • 4 chicken breasts (diced into cubes)

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp tamari sauce
  • dash Black Pepper
  • dash Cinnamon
  • dash ground ginger
  • dash ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
Chinese Chicken Skewers
Instructions
  1. If you are using wooden skewers make sure you first soak them in water for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Heat the grill over medium high heat.
  3. To make the chicken marinade, add the following ingredients to a mixing bowl: 1/4 cup of coconut oil, 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of tamari sauce, a dash of black pepper, a dash of cinnamon, a dash of ground ginger, and a dash of ground cloves.
  4. Add the marinade mixture to a frying pan to melt the coconut oil for approximately 30 seconds.
  5. In a big mixing bowl, add the diced chicken, then pour the melted marinade over the chicken.
  6. Mix it all together to ensure the marinade covers all the chicken.
  7. Skewer the marinated chicken, add them to the grill, then cook for 4-6 mins per side.
  8. Sprinkle the chicken skewers with 1/4 cup of almond flour to add extra texture and healthy fat.
  9. Enjoy the gains.

For the chicken marinades we usually use vinegars, including balsamic vinegar, and olive oil.

Jess: Sometimes we also use lime or lemon juice, since I like citrus on chicken.

Brad: Mangos are good too as a marinade on chicken.

Brad: However, most of the time we only use herbs, spices and seasonings. If I had to choose my top 3 herbs, spices, and seasonings for chicken, it would be garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.

  • 1 sprinkle Sea Salt
  • 1 sprinkle Black Pepper
  • 5 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sherry vinegar
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 diced carrot
  • 2 diced radishes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 small handful sesame seeds

How To Make A Healthy Tahini Chicken Salad Recipe For Weight Loss
Instructions
  1. To save time, use pre-cooked chicken breast spiced with sea salt and black pepper.
  2. First up, we're going to make the sauce. In a bowl, mix together 5 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and 2 tbsp of sherry vinegar. It's incredible how much flavor you can add to your food by simply mixing olive oil and vinegar together.
  3. The last ingredient to add to our bowl of dressing sauce is 2 tbsp of tahini. Whisk up all the ingredients and blend them together until it forms into a thicker sauce. You want a smooth consistency where the sauce is thick, but still liquidy enough to coat the the chicken, carrots, and radish. At this point, we're almost done. It's that simple. Note: this makes 4 servings of sauce, so be sure to only use 1/4 of the mixture for 1 serving. Store the rest for leftovers.
  4. Now it's simple. On each plate, add 1/4 lbs of pre-cooked chopped chicken breast spiced with sea salt and black pepper, 1/2 diced carrot, 1 diced radish, and 1 tbsp of chopped parsley for color.
  5. Drizzle 1/4 of the sauce over top of each plate.
  6. Lastly, garnish the plate with a small handful of sesame seeds. The sesame seeds will make this tahini chicken salad recipe look even better.
  7. Enjoy.
