On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing how to completely eliminate food cravings in 14 days, with the junk food fast challenge.
If you’re like most people, you have food cravings.
But if you’re looking to get your cravings for specific foods under control, you’re in luck.
I’m about to share how I personally eliminated my food cravings, and you can too.
I used to have mad food cravings for bread, oats, and of course, ice cream.
In fact, I still remember rummaging through the kitchen cabinets, thinking I was freaking starving.
It got to the point where I’d have a bowl of oats, then I’d add more oats to the bowl, and a little more.
You get the point.
I just couldn’t fill myself up on oats.
But when it comes to cravings, it doesn’t matter what type of food it is.
If you continuously crave a certain food, and you over eat it, it’s not helping you Live Lean.
Sound familiar?
In most cases, the types of foods that you crave are high in carbohydrates, in particular refined sugar.
Carbohydrates convert to sugar in the body, which can cause a quick spike in your blood sugar.
The rush of sugar is then removed from your blood stream, which then causes a blood sugar crash.
A crash in blood sugar then spikes your hunger, thus causing your cravings to go back up.
Based on this, here’s how I completely eliminated these cravings in 14 days.
I first made a pact to myself to stop eating the foods that I craved for 14 days.
When it comes to food cravings, here’s the most obvious thing you have to understand.
Completely eliminating unhealthy foods that you always crave, will eventually make you no longer crave those foods.
Such a simple concept but so few actually implement it.
The key is to break the conditioned mental connection between the hunger stimuli and eating certain foods.
It’s a repetitive cycle.
When you always eat snacks high in sugar, you’re actually training your brain to crave those foods every time you feel hungry.
During the 14 day junk food fast craving challenge, focus all of your meals on foods high in protein and healthy fat, and low in carbohydrates.
This will be hardest for the initial 7 days because your body is programmed to want to eat the foods you crave.
In my case, it was ice cream and bread.
However, eventually my body adapted and significantly decreased my cravings for these foods.
Fast forward to today, and I no longer crave ice cream and life is much leaner.
The one food I still allow myself to crave is pizza.
However, I enjoy pizza as my weekly cheat meal.

Cake. it’s been a horrible year, injuries, illness, bereavement, work bollocks and teenagers. i adopted a dog with major issues, lost a house I was buying and my savings, so I’ve been a wee bit stressed. I’m ready now to start working out again, eating properly, not strangling the teenager (it’s frowned on in my country), but i have real food issues to overcome first.
But hey, my record for surviving tough times is still 100%,
Brad please help me, I have Binge Eating Disorder which means I eat a lot at once, then try to throw up after that. I hate it and I want to stop but it is so hard!
if you people will need to get ripped much faster without spending a single another minute in the gym, then you have to look at this video tutorial SIXPP.COM

Pizza 🙂 I have it maybe once every 2 months or so….
Thanks for sharing your passion for fitness! I am enjoying your videos. I have a question. Do you think it is possible to get lean while eating carbs at the majority of your meals if you balance it with an equal portion of protein? I gave up carbs other then green vegetables and berries for a month a few years ago and it was really difficult after 30 days. I went a little insane.
go to the gym. seriously, it is the best stress buster!
i’m s stress eater – when i’m under stress, i eat masses of crap and i have monster cravings. any advice?
What Brad said is true. I used to crave potato chips every night. When I started working out, I told myself to stop eating chips coz I don’t want all my effort to go to waste. I no longer crave chips.
I personally have foods that I crave, and I have done a month fasting of that food replacing those foods with healthier types like brown rice or whole wheat pasta, all natural no sugar carob chip cookies, ect. I have seen the difference in my waist line.
wings from hooters because i work there
Cheeseburgers 🙁
at night especially – raisins, 0% greek yogurt, and nut butter. i mix it all together with protein powder and make myself a snack… i have that far too often to fill up on calories throughout the day. i gave up greasy foods and all other dairy but that yogurt has a hold on me. i was also carotenemic from eating far too many carrots until recently. that was more a texture thing so i eat more celery now.
Almonds. Ist so bad that i actually stopped buying them in big 700g packs. instead i go for 40g pack every day. Also grapefruits. I just love bitter taste.
I guess i have it easier cus ive never been a fan of salted food (chips, crisps etc) and sweets.
… Chocolate.. Trying to sub reg milk chocolate for dark choc or cocoa nibs.. So hard..
grapes
COMPLETELY ELIMINATED EVERYTHING BAD IN MY LIFE 11 years ago and BOOM – I don’t even remember what they taste like!!! I CRAVE SALMON! Mmmmmmmmmm SALMON!!!!!
French fries, pizza, and ice cream.
Mostly nuts and dried fruit, especially cashews and dates.

Should Dinner be a Big meal or the smallest?
I crave beef!

Hey Brad, My kryptonite is apple pie a-la-mode or anything with dough and ice cream. I can forgo the bread but the dough just keeps calling me…lol
Crave ice cream and chocolate way too much. Really trying to eliminate these from my diet.
Alcohol! I was big party person in college but since then I have cut back drastically. I went from January 1st, 2013 to through Easter Sunday without a single drop of alcohol. While this may not sound like a big deal to most, I like a little Crown and water on the weekend on a beer with my burger so it was an adjustment. Point is, since then I have had reentered alcohol into my diet but on a very limited basis. I don’t drink on a regular basis at all and if I do have a drink, it is typically A DRINK. That’s it. I just don’t crave alcohol like I used to and I don’t see that changing. FYI, I’m not a recovering alcoholic, I was just a college student who finally got their priorities in order.
This is so true! When I cut sugar out of my diet for 21 days, I stopped craving it. Plus anything I had started tasting sweeter. I find that when I check in every once in a while and consciously cut out my added sugar intake, it works wonder for curbing my sweet tooth.
This is so true!! I was eating a lower carb diet and my cravings for sugar disappeared, but I started eating energy gels before and during my long runs and now my cravings have kicked in with a vengeance. Working on controlling those cravings but still eating enough carbs to sustain my half-marathon training
Brad quick question … is it bad to eat alot of protein in a short period of time ..fyi i’m doing IF but i eat about 60-100 gram of protein when i get back from work in the morning????
My kryptonite is apple pie a-la-mode or anything with dough and ice cream. I can forgo the bread but the dough just keeps calling me…lol After dinner I am of the mindset that I DESERVE something sweet…this is one of the reasons why I am carrying this spare tire… Oh, and I forgot PASTA!!!!!! with oil and or butter Ugh!!
