How To Do The Standing Hip Flexor Stretch Correctly

The Standing Hip Flexor Stretch is a simple static stretch to help loosen up the hips, and can be done anywhere.

To get started:

  1. While standing with your feet together, place your hands on your hips.
  2. Take a step forward with one leg so that your feet are about two feet apart, keeping both feet pointing straight ahead, and your knees slightly bent.
  3. Once you’re stable, push your pelvis forward to increase the stretch in the hip of the back leg.
  4. Hold the stretch for 5 seconds, then switch legs and repeat.
