How To Do A Standing Hip Hike Correctly

The Standing Hip Hike is a subtle but effective glute strengthening exercise that can also help stretch and loosen up tight hips.

To get started:

  1. Stand with with your hands on your hips with one foot planted on top of a step or box, with the other leg hanging off the edge, keeping your legs, shoulders, and hips straight, square and level to the ground.
  2. Contract your glutes, raise the hip of the leg that is hanging off the step, then lower the leg back to the starting position.
  3. Repeat all the reps with one leg, then switch sides and repeat.
