How To Do A Trap Bar Deadlift Exercise Video Demonstration and Guide

The Trap Bar Deadlift is another variation of the deadlift, but rather than using a barbell, the deadlift is completed using a trap bar, a.k.a. a hex bar.

Using a trap bar may place less stress on the spine.

To get started:

  1. Step into the center of the trap bar, with a hip width stance.
  2. While keeping your chest up, push your hips back, bend your knees, and lower your body to grab the handles with your hands.
  3. While maintaining a flat back, push your feet through the ground and lift the bar by extending your hips and knees, without rounding your back.
  4. Reverse the movement to lower the bar back to the floor and repeat.
