On today’s episode, I’m answering the following question: how do you get back on track after binging or vacation?
This could be overeating and drinking at a party or completely falling off the diet and fitness wagon after a vacation.
It’s ok.
Sure your past actions were not optimal for accomplishing your fitness goals, but that doesn’t make you a bad person.
We’re all human.
Plus it’s highly likely that you’ll face even more setbacks like this during your fitness journey.
Focus on what you can control today.
And what you can control today, is your actions moving forward.
You can’t change the past, you can only change your future.
Don’t let the past define who you are in this moment.
In this moment, you have two choices.
You can choose to continue eating bad food and skipping your workouts, or you can choose to jump right back into your nutrition plan and workout program.
What really matters in the end, is that you get focused and start executing on your goals right now.
The instant you realize your actions are not in alignment with your goals, you must break that pattern immediately.
Don’t allow this one short-term setback totally screw up everything you’re working towards.
I see too many people totally give up on their fitness journey because of one or two setbacks.
They think this setback is a sign that they just don’t have the willpower or the genetics to Live Lean.
I’m here to tell you, you’re no different than anyone else.
I enjoy drinking, partying, and eating pizza too.
But I don’t look at this as a setback.
I look at my cheat meals as part of a lifelong journey.
To Live Lean, you also have to have balance in your life, meaning it’s ok to have fun too.
That’s what makes the Live Lean journey enjoyable and worthwhile.
You do not have to give up your social life to Live Lean.
And trust me, you did not do as much harm during this setback as what you may think you did.
The real harm is not the set back, it’s from NOT getting back up after you’ve been knocked down.
They get up the next day, and forget about what happened the day before.
Then they go out and work twice as hard to get back on track towards executing on their plan.
You have the potential to do the exact same thing.
Control what you can control and forget about the past.
The power is with you.
Keep moving forward.
