On today’s #TBT episode of Live Lean TV, I’m answering the following viewer question: is the paleo diet good or bad for you?
Before I share my thoughts on the paleo diet, this is the first post from our new #TBT Q&A series.
In my recent post on What Happened To Our YouTube channel?, you made it loud and clear that you loved the idea of more short Q&A posts.
Well, based on your feedback, it’s a go.
Every Thursday, we will be uploading one #TBT question to our YouTube channel, from our old #LLTV Q&A series that I filmed in 2012.
Wondering if you can make a video about what you think is good and bad about the paleo diet. It seems to be too strict for me, especially with not being able to eat grains and sweet potatoes.
Awesome question.
What do I think of the paleo diet?
I absolutely love it.
I’ve read The Paleo Solution.
I’ve also read The Paleo Diet.
Everything on the paleo diet that was covered in these books makes complete sense to me.
Here’s what is great about the paleo diet.
Your genetics are 99% the same as your cavemen ancestors.
This means the foods your ancestors ate, are the same foods your digestive tract was designed to thrive on.
Paleo foods are primarily comprised of foods high in protein, lots of vegetables, and healthy fats.
These paleo diet foods include:
A lot of people think the paleo diet is too strict because dairy, and grains like wheat, are not paleo diet approved foods.
But if you’ve read my posts on grains, you know I highly recommend you try to limit the amount of grains and dairy you’ve have in your diet.
In the viewer question, they thought they couldn’t eat sweet potatoes while following the paleo diet.
Sweet potatoes are paleo approved, however they are meant to be consumed in moderation.
Following the paleo diet is all about focusing your food consumption on foods high in protein, healthy fats, a lot of vegetables, and some fruit.
Give it a try and you will see the body fat totally burn off.
I recommend it.
