Based on my what’s in my fridge post, a lot of people had questions when I shared some of the supplements in my kitchen.
If you’ve been a long time viewer of our Live Lean TV YouTube channel, you know I don’t talk about supplements very often.
Mostly because you can get the biggest bang for your buck by eating real whole food.
Plus, I don’t take a lot of supplements.
However, when it comes to the 2 best supplements to get lean and healthy, I recommend most people add these to their diet.
I’m sure you are not surprised that protein powder is one of the two.
However, you’re probably surprised that the other supplement is not:
The other best supplement to get lean and healthy is fish oil.
In fact, when I showed fish oils from my post on the best fitness foods to get lean, a lot of people asked which brand I recommend and what are the benefits of fish oil.
So that’s what I’m going to talk about in today’s post.
Let’s look at the typical standard American diet, also known as SAD.
Today’s standard American diet is filled with processed food that is typically high in omega 6 fatty acids.
When consumed in excess, omega 6 fatty acids can be very inflammatory in the body.
The ratios of today’s standard America diet is about 20:1 of omega 6 fatty acids to omega 3 fatty acids.
A healthy body like our Paleolithic ancestors had an omega 6 to omega 3 ratio closer to 2:1.
This means today’s ratios are way out of whack, thus we’re creating much more inflammation in our bodies.
Therefore, it’s important to bring this ratio back in line, closer to a 2:1 ratio of omega 6s to omega 3s.
Taking an omega 3 fish oil supplement can help with that.
Although you can also eat more wild salmon and other foods that are high in omega 3 fatty acids, an easy way to add more omega 3s to your diet is to supplement with omega 3 fish oil.
A lot of people ask:
“Brad, how do you work out so hard to the gym, and how do you recover your body so quickly, because we don’t see you taking many days off?”.
This observation is very true.
I admit, I don’t take very many days off from the gym.
I go into the gym, pretty much every day, and I work my butt off.
First of all, I eat real whole foods.
In other words, my nutrition is pretty close to being bang on.

And as you learned in this post, the majority of us need more omega 3 fatty acids in our diet.

When most people think of fish oil, they think of a smelly fish taste and the dreaded fish burps.
However, not all brands of fish oils are created the same, as some are not as high quality as others.
