Trust me, you are going to be surprised at some of the foods I’m supposed to avoid, based on my unique microbiome.
I’ll share that in just a bit.
If you’re new to Live Lean TV, my name is Brad Gouthro, and I’m a 42 year old husband and dad of 2 young kids, and 1 Puggle.
I’ve been helping people Live Lean 365 days a year, for over 10 years.
Actually, since I was born in 1980, 42 is my chronological age.
However, based on my Viome results, I’ve found out my biological age is different.
Is it older or is it younger?
Keep reading as I’ll share my biological age shortly.

I’ve done numerous content on the importance of gut microbiome health, so rather going to deep into it again, here is a post on the The Missing Link Between Gut Health And Weight Loss.
However, according to today’s sponsor, Viome, if you are struggling with any of the following symptoms, it could be a sign you have poor gut health:
If any of these apply to you, Viome’s Full Body Intelligence Test could be a good fit for you.

The Viome Full Body Intelligence Test measures the health of your:
Based on these tests, you’ll receive your results in 2-3 weeks with your 8 health scores assessing your:
Based on your 8 health scores, you’ll then receive personalized food recommendations categorized as either:
Since everybody digests food differently, what may be a health food for most people, may not actually be good for your unique microbiome.
I was quite surprised at my food recommendations, which I’ll share shortly.
Finally, you’ll also have the option of getting custom formulated supplement recommendations based on what your body is lacking.
With all that out of the way, let’s dive into my Viome Full Body Intelligence Test results.
Once I ordered the Full Body Intelligence Test online, the kit arrived on my doorstep within a few days.
There are 3 simple at home tests to be completed:
Everything you need to do the tests is included in the kit.
The next morning, in a fasted state, and before brushing my teeth, I completed all 3 tests.
I’ve done quite a few at home health tests like this over the years, so the process was very straightforward to me.
However, if you’re new to at home testing kits, you can simply follow the step-by-step directions included in the pamphlet or watch the quick videos.
After I was done with the tests, I simply included them in the included postage paid envelope and dropped them off the same day at UPS.
In addition to these tests, there is also a 15 minute health questionnaire to be completed inside the Viome app.
Overall, the testing portion of the service was very seamless and straight forward.
Within 2-3 weeks, I received an email that my results were ready for me inside the Viome app.
Let’s check out my exact results and nutrition recommendations based on my unique microbiome.
First off, you receive a lot of data from the Full Body Intelligence Test, so it can be overwhelming when you first look at it.
As mentioned, I received 8 main health scores that represent an overall assessment of key health areas that impact how I feel, look and age.
Based on the score, each main health area are rated either:
These health scores determine your food and supplement recommendations.
Here are the results of my health scores ranked from highest to lowest:
As I mentioned earlier, I was born in 1980, so at the time of this post I am 42 years old.
This means I am biologically 5 years younger than my chronological age.
To be honest, I feel even younger than 37, but that’s awesome.
I must be doing something right.
Now lets get into the food recommendations, because that’s the really interesting part.
The food recommendations listed as superfoods and enjoy foods include nutrients that support your unique microbiome health.
The foods listed as minimize foods and avoid foods may be harmful to your unique microbiome.
Here are my superfoods based on my unique microbiome.
First off, these food recommendations only include one ingredient whole foods.
Viome clearly includes a list of foods that everyone should avoid, including packaged and processed foods containing:
That’s why you won’t see items like these on any of these lists.
According to Viome, the following superfoods are personalized to my tests results.
Let’s start with the superfood vegetables.
From the looks of this, I need to start eating more mushrooms.
I eat of lot of these already.
That’s interesting.
Maybe I have to start eating more oats and lentils.
Again, let me preface this by saying these foods are unique to me.
If you did this test, based on your unique microbiome, these foods may be on the avoid list for you.
Speaking of that, here are the foods I should avoid based on my unique microbiome.
Wow!
I’m taking all of this data with a grain of salt.
To be honest, as a 42 year old man, I feel great.
Or I guess I’m really 37 years old now, right?
Regardless, I’m more excited to incorporate more of these superfoods into my diet, while minimizing the other foods that don’t serve me.
Here’s the other great thing about the Viome Full Body Intelligence Test.
Maybe you don’t like eating broccoli, but you’ve been forcing yourself to eat it because you’ve been told it’s healthy for you.
If your test results show you should be avoiding broccoli, now you don’t have to eat it anymore, since you know it’s not good for you.
This means you can then swap in other superfood vegetables to replace it.
Since I now know spinach is an avoid food for me, and arugula is a superfood, I can now make smarter food swap decisions.
Or if you should avoid brussels sprouts, cabbage, or any other avoid food, you can swap them out for more superfoods good for your unique microbiome.
For me, I’ve always striving for moderation and fitting it into an overall healthy lifestyle.
Adding extra stress into my life over food is not serving me in the long run, especially when I’m 5 years younger biologically.
However, I will create a new meal plan to swap out those avoid foods and replace them with more of my superfoods and enjoy foods.
Viome actually recommends you limit those minimize foods to 20% of your daily intake.
Therefore, there still is room for me to consume some of those minimize foods.
If you’re interested in seeing those food swaps, comment below and maybe I’ll create another post specifically on how I build my new meal plan based on these food recommendations.
I watched a few other Viome review videos, and it was interesting to see that some of my superfoods were avoid foods for those people, and my avoid foods were superfood foods to them.
It’s very interesting, and just goes to show, everybody’s body is different.
