On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, we’re celebrating National Donut Day, while sharing the importance of finding balance in a healthy lifestyle.
This is Life Lean Live Vlog ep. 05.
Shout out to Carlos Guerrero on Snapchat for sending me this this snap:
“Totally love the new workout. I’ll be trying the workout in about 30 minutes. If I survive, I’ll say hi. Thanks buddy.”
I reply back:
“💪 💯 🔥”
Snapchat love.
Thanks for watching brother.
Before enjoying National Donut Day, I went to the outdoor field at a local high school for a quick workout.
Here are 7 no equipment outdoor exercises at the field:
It’s the first Friday in June, so that means it’s National Donut day.
Since everybody is sharing posts on social media about it, it makes me not want to do it.
However, since Jessica wanted to do it, we have to do it, even though the line up was long.
So here we are at Blue Star Donuts + Coffee on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Los Angeles.
Most of the unique donut options, including the passion fruit and cacao nib, or the blueberry and bourbon donut, didn’t appeal to me.
Once Jessica pointed out the maple bacon donut, I quickly became intrigued.
Jessica ordered the passion fruit glazed donut and said it tasted amazing.
Even though she hasn’t had many donuts in her lifetime, she quickly declared that it was probably the best donut she’s ever had.
As a true Canadian, I ordered the maple bacon donut, and it was delicious.
It was surprisingly more savory than sweet.
Try making this Healthy Chocolate Donut Recipe.
Bottom line, these were both high quality donuts, and since it was National Donut Day, we had to do it for you.
We want to show you when we cheat or eat dirty foods, because, full disclosure, we do.
We’re human beings just like you.
Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to only show you the healthy food.
We want you to know that it’s okay, every once in a while, to have dirty foods, when you eat clean and workout most of the time.
You don’t have to be perfect.
Perfection is not Living Lean.
Living Lean is having fun, while still achieving sustainable results.
Don’t forget to have some fun and live your life.
After getting donuts, I waited in the car with our dog Bruno, while Jessica went to the bank to get money.
As expected, Bruno immediately started barking and whimpering once Jessica left.
Since we rescued Bruno from a dog shelter in January 2016, we quickly discovered he suffers from separation anxiety.
I love Bruno, but all the whining has been tough, especially on me, since I’m used to owning big dogs, like my labrador retriever, Peyton.
Once we got home, I met Jessica and Bruno at Real Fitness for a kick ass ultimate fighter style heavy bag workout, comprised of jabs, crosses, and kicks.
After adding another workout in the books, I was feeling good.
Now it’s time to go home and get some food.
It’s Friday night.
One of the things we love to do to wind down after a stressful day and long week is to put on some relaxing clothes, and go for a full body Chinese foot massage.
We love going to Massage For Your Health to get our feet rubbed and relax.
It’s a little hidden treasure in the corner of a strip mall in Playa Del Rey.
If you’ve never had a Chinese foot massage do it.
It’s so worth every single penny.
Jess always falls a sleep during the second half of the massage.
You can keep your gold watches, bling-bling, and fancy clothes.
Jessica and I would rather have experiences over things.
I’ll invest my money into massages, rather than all the “stuff”, every day.
I’m currently on season 2 of re-watching all the episodes of the show Entourage again.
It’s one of my favorite shows of all time.
If I could switch my life with anybody, it would be Vincent Chase.
Here’s a weird thing I do before going to bed.
Don’t judge me, but I’ve really been into doing crossword puzzles.
I’ve been using the “Star-Studded Crosswords” book to keep my brain sharp.
I was never really into doing crosswords before.
However besides reading, I feel doing crosswords are better than staring at a blue screen on my iPhone before bed.
My favorite are the sports fan themed crossword puzzles.
That’s it.
Another day of Living Lean is over.
Thank you for all your support.
You are awesome.
Good night.
