On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing my once a week cheat meal rules and recovery, while trying the eat a whole pizza challenge with beer.
This was from our Live Lean Life Vlog Ep. 06.
When the wife goes away, pizza comes to play.
I bought a frozen DIGIORNO Original Rising Crust supreme pizza.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried to DIGIORNO pizza before.
While the pizza is baking in the oven, let’s choose a beer from the fridge.
I bought a multi pack of Shock Top beer, with the following flavors:
I couldn’t make a decision, so I decided to cover my eyes and pick one.
It ended up being the Summer Grapefruit.
We didn’t have Shock Top beer where I grew up, so this was my first time drinking it.
It was a different tasting beer and it actually tasted like grapefruit.
Time to enjoy my pizza and beer.
Let’s see if I can eat an entire frozen DIGIORNO Original Rising Crust supreme pizza by myself.
To start, I cut it up into 4 slices, and ate one slice at a time.
Long story short, I finished the entire pizza.
I’m just keeping it real.
That’s what a typical cheat meal looks for me.
I have a big cheat meal like that once a week.
When I’m planning on having my cheat day, it’s important for me to first get my workout in.
You could also have your cheat day during an off non-workout day, however it’s always good, first thing in the morning, to go kill a workout to get the sweat out.
I’ve also been out for two walks with my dog Bruno, so I’ve been pretty active all day.
This means my body is now ready to absorb all the extra calories that’s going to come from this cheat meal.
When it comes to eating your cheat meals, you have to be smart.
You can still eat cheat meals and Live Lean, just use your head.
A lot of people always ask me what I do after my cheat meal.
Well, I do not allow myself to fall down the slippery slope where my next meal turns into another a dirty meal.
Speaking from my perspective, after a big cheat meal, my body feels satisfied.
Since the junk food hit the spot for me, I’m now craving:
The day after a cheat meal is the perfect time to, use all the extra calories you just put in your body, to really kill your next workout.
This is the time complete your leg workout or a really heavy chest, back, or another big muscle group workout.
Go put those extra cheat meal calories to use and make sure you get back on track again.
That’s it.
I prefer to do a big type of cheat meal, where I eat a whole pizza, as opposed to having one slice of pizza.
Let’s be real, to me, one slice of pizza doesn’t fulfill my desires after eating healthy all week.
One slice of pizza is not going to satisfy me.
This is why I take the approach of, if I’m having a cheat meal, I’ll have a real cheat meal.
For example, a full pizza.
I eat until I’m full and satisfied.
That’s my approach to cheat meals.
It’s been working for me, but you do you.
This isn’t giving you the green light to go out and do whatever you want with your cheat meal.
If you’re happy and content with just having one slice of pizza, then go on with the rest of your week eating healthy, do that.
If you don’t feel like you need cheat meals, do that.
You do you, and I’m going to keep doing me.
Ultimately, you have to figure out what works for you.

Great info. I can’t eat a whole pizza, but I used to be able to and finish a 6 pack of beer. Ughhh. I have one cheat meal a week as well and oddly, it’s some pizza. I do the same thing except my next day is a big HIIT cardio session. It’s odd, it’s my best workout of the week I find and it’s usually on a Saturday morning. It must be all the extra carbs or a mental thing to go even harder to get rid of the junk food from the night before.
