On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, we’re sharing our most embarrassing gym stories, including our worst workout fail moments at the gym.
This was a question from #AskLiveLeanTV Ep. 015.
@Winstonlover on Twitter asks: What is your most embarrassing gym fail? Here is mine, a t-bar row accident.
She shared this photo to show proof of her most embarrassing gym fail accident.
It looks like she bumped her forehead with the weight plate while doing the t-bar row exercise.
To make this mistake, you would have to be going beast mode to raise the t-bar high enough to bump your forehead.
Or maybe your chin was tucked in too much, which would make your head hang down too low.
Regardless, to help you safely lockdown the proper form, here’s a step-by-step video demonstration of the t-bar row.
I’ve seen people at the gym bump their forehead with the bar while performing a wide grip lat pulldown.
This can happen if you pull the weight down too close to your body, thus hitting your head with the bar.
Don’t get me wrong, we’re not making fun of you to make you feel even worse.
It’s just a funny gym fail story, and it happens to the best of us.
Jessica has quite a few embarrassing gym stories that happened before we met.
However, since we’ve been together, one of her most embarrassing gym stories was this pull up bar gym fail that caused her to break a bone in her wrist.
Not only was this embarrassing, it was also an awful gym fail moment.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you may have already seen this as we originally shared it back in 2013.
This gym fail happened during our second trip to Gold’s Gym Venice, while visiting Los Angeles on vacation, before we moved there.
If you’re familiar with Gold’s Gym in Venice, it has the world famous green wall that everyone takes photos in front of.
However, at the time, there was an empty heavy bag mount attached to the wall that already had a v-bar placed on top of it for pull ups.
Jessica saw this and asked me to take a video of her doing pull ups.
So she completed a few pull ups, but then on the last rep, she pressed her feet into the wall for leverage, and the v-bar slipped off the mount.
Since I was recording with the camera, I didn’t have time to catch her before she fell to the ground, landing on her back.
When she tried to brace the fall with her hands, it ended up breaking one of her wrists.
Jessica had other embarrassing gym fails include falling off the treadmill.
She also bumped her head on a barbell while falling backwards after trying to clean a barbell up to re-rack it after a set of heavy barbell squats.
Jessica also has had a lot of experiences losing her balance or falling off something.
When this happens, the key is too just look around and then move on to something else quickly 😂.
When it comes to my most embarrassing gym stories, I don’t really have anything as serious as Jessica’s.
I remember one time I farted out loud while trying to push out one last rep.
Although I don’t remember the exact exercise, I think it was an exercise that had me in a funny position for farting, where someone was spotting me close by.
That was my most embarrassing gym story.
Nothing too serious, but still embarrassing though.
I know I have more embarrassing stories than that, but I just can’t think of them right now.
