Healthy Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli
Instructions
  1. Put the sliced sweet potatoes and broccoli to the side as we're first going to focus on making the turkey burgers.
  2. Add all the ingredients (except the coconut oil, butter, cinnamon, balsamic vinegar, sweet potatoes and broccoli) to a bowl and mix together with your hands.
  3. Once all the ingredients are mixed together, it's time to make 12 golf ball sized turkey balls.
  4. Lightly grease a pan with 1 tsp of coconut oil over medium high heat.
  5. Add the turkey balls to the pan (it should sizzle), then press down on the balls with a spatula to form a disc shaped patty.
  6. Flip the turkey burgers once they are golden brown on one side. Allow them to cook for another few minutes until they are looking good, smelling good, and most importantly, cooked thoroughly (you don't want to eat raw turkey 😉
  7. Once the turkey burgers are almost finished, move on to the sweet potato and steamed broccoli sides.
  8. Add 1 tsp of butter, 1 tsp of coconut oil, and 4 tbsp of water to a pot, then add in the sliced sweet potatoes, add a cover to the pot, and allow to heat up on medium high heat for approximately 5 minutes.
  9. Steam the broccoli in another pot over medium high heat for approximately 5-10 minutes. If you don't have access to another pot, you can simply add a steamer on top of the pot with the sweet potatoes, then add the broccoli to the top steamer and cover. The flavor from the butter and coconut oil will add a nice flavor to the broccoli.
  10. Add everything to a plate and store the rest for left overs.
  11. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the sweet potatoes and some balsamic on top of the broccoli. Enjoy!
