2slicesmonterey jack cheesebroken into small pieces
1tbspCoconut Oilto grease the baking sheet
Instructions
Pre-heat your oven to 320F.
Add the following ingredients to a mixing bowl: finely chopped portobello mushrooms, italian seasoning, ground turkey, dill weed, black pepper, sea salt, and egg whites.
Mix the turkey mixture together with your hands until all the ingredients are blended together.
Add the broken up pieces of monterey jack cheese into the turkey mixture and mix well. The goal is to get a little piece of cheese inside every turkey meatball.
With your hands, form the turkey mixture into 12 golf ball sized turkey meatballs.
If you want to save time on cleaning, add tinfoil to a baking sheet and coat with coconut oil. Rub the coconut oil onto the baking sheet with a paper towel to ensure the turkey meatballs don’t stick. The coconut oil will also give the turkey balls a little more flavor and add a little extra dose of healthy fat.
Add the turkey meatballs to the baking sheet and place into the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Be sure to keep your eye on them.
Add a turkey meatball to a plate and cut open to ensure it’s cooked all the way through. In my oven, they were cooked throughly within 22 minutes.
