On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, we’re answering a viewer question who asked about reheating meat and fish in the office microwave vs eating cold food.
Today’s viewer question is from #AskLiveLeanTV Ep. 019.
Here’s today’s viewer question:
@marisolcadriel on Twitter asks:
What are some suggestions on reheating food in the microwave at work so that the meat or fish doesn’t dry up?
Brad: Since I wanted to change my body and be healthy, I came to the conclusion that, at times, I had to eat food cold.
Jess: Yeah, I know, me too.
It gets to a point where you just realize that this is what needs to be done, if this is the result you want.
Eventually, you get used to eating cold food.
That was how it was for me when I was competing in fitness competitions.
Brad: I don’t even think about it anymore.
It’s just food and calories to fuel your body.
It still tastes good when it’s cold, but it’s just not what you’re used too, from a temperature perspective.
You have to get over it.
Jess: Yeah, I would bring all my meals to school with me.
Then I actually came to a point where I began to prefer certain things cold.
Brad: Me too.
Jess: I actually like cold chicken and cold oatmeal.
I know that’s going to be really weird for some people to hear.
I also like sweet potatoes cold too.
You just have to adapt.
If your only choice at the office is to use the microwave or go cold, our recommendation is go cold.Â
Brad: However, if you won’t go cold, and it comes down to either eating at McDonald’s, who will serve it hot to you, or heating your food in the microwave, use the microwave.
Jess: Right.
