On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing the truth about why your fitness results aren’t faster and how self-awareness can change your journey.
You don’t hear many fitness experts talking about self-awareness because, it’s not sexy, it’s not instant, and it’s definitely not marketable.
However, self-awareness is one of the most important and overlooked aspects you need to understand, if you’re really serious about transforming your body and health.
Self-awareness is defined as:
Conscious knowledge of one’s own character, feelings, motives, and desires.
Encyclopedia.com
Self-awareness is knowing what you truly want and desire, but possibly more importantly, understanding what you’re actually willing and capable of doing, to accomplish it.
Do you ever catch yourself saying, “I don’t have time to workout.”?
If yes, you need to understand what you’re really saying is:
Getting faster results with your health, is not a top priority to you.
Having self-awareness helps you understand that it will take you longer to get results with your health and fitness.
Not all people are willing to put in the necessary work to get faster results, which is absolutely fine, as long as you understand your results will come slower than your neighbor, who never misses a workout.
Trust me, even if you are not 100% on point with your workouts and diet, if you stay somewhat consistent and strive for daily progress, not perfection, results will still come.
In other words, even if your results are not as fast or dramatic as more committed people, you will still get healthier.
Remember, Living Lean is not a race.
Living Lean is not about being:
Personally, I am well aware that I have no desire to be any of those labels.
However, I am committed to the label of Living Lean.
As a Live Leaner, this means I am committed to:
I’m living proof, that even at 43 years old, this lifestyle balance still allows me to live 365 days a year, with approximately 8-10% body fat, while still enjoying an occasional beer and pizza, when it’s time to celebrate.
Living Lean is about implementing lifelong, sustainable healthy habits.
These daily habits and behaviors will develop inside you, once you adopt the Live Lean mindset.
If you catch yourself complaining about how you’re not losing weight fast enough, think about your daily actions.
Are your daily actions truly taking you closer to your goal, or are your daily actions speaking so much louder than the words coming out of your mouth.
Sure you want it to get healthy.
Everybody wants to get healthy.
However, there is no such thing as something for nothing.
When it comes to your health, you have to be patient and consistently work for it.
If I told you it will take you 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years to accomplish your health goals, would you still commit to it?
That’s having self awareness.
Stop asking, “How long will it take?” and start asking, “How do I start?”.
Keep Living Lean.
