In today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m showing you how to make a low carb cereal recipe replacement.
I’ll also share why the “healthy” cereals you’re eating, are stopping you and your family, from getting the results you want.
It’s time to stop the cereal insanity for you and your kids.
At the bottom of this post, I share a quick, healthy, and delicious homemade cereal recipe that you can use today, that your whole family will love.
I call it, super jacked, high protein, Live Lean paleo cereal.
Let me ask you a simple question.
Don’t be embarrassed, tell me the truth.
What kind of cereal do you and/or your kids eat?
Corn Flakes, Special K, Fruit Loops?
If you’re like pffffff…Fruit Loops, that’s junk food, I eat healthy cereal like Corn Flakes and Special K.
If that’s you, get ready to be surprised about what I’m going to say.
FAIL!
However, YOU didn’t fail.
The food manufacturer’s deceiving marketing hype has failed you.
When I first started my journey, I also thought the packaged cereals I was eating were healthy as well.
So I was pissed when I first learned what the ingredients inside these cereals were doing to my body.
Let’s be real.
The food manufacturers in the cereal industry spend multi-millions of dollars every year, trying to convince you their cereal is healthy.
What’s even more deceiving is the nutrition labels on these “healthy” cereals, like Special K and Cornflakes, may say they are “low fat” and “low sugar“.
However, here’s the deal.
Most packaged “healthy” cereals:
This combination is a perfect example of a food that will wreck havoc on your body’s fat burning hormones.
Eating these cereals can cause hormonal imbalances, which can turn your body into a fat storing machine, even if the nutrition label says zero fat.
The reason for this is the main ingredients in these cereals are higher glycemic carbohydrates like refined:
During the refining process, most of the natural nutrients have been stripped from the grain.
These processed ingredients are very high on the glycemic list and will quickly raise blood sugar levels.
These carbohydrates then quickly enter the blood stream, thus requiring a large amount of the insulin hormone to remove the sugar from the blood.
When large amounts of insulin is released by the body, if there is no room to store the sugar in the muscle cells, it gets stored in the fat cells.
Hello to the new, fatter, and less healthy version, of your old self.
What’s even more startling are the high sugar cereals, like fruit loops, that are continuously being marketed to your kids.
A survey found that some of the most popular kid’s cereal contains the same amount of sugar as a chocolate bar.
Even though the nutrition label may not show that much sugar, remember the nutrition label only shows the sugar per serving.
Think about it.
When was the last time you poured the exact amount of cereal in your bowl, that according to the nutrition label, was a serving?
In many cases, if you measured your typical cereal portion with a food scale, it would actually be 3 servings.
I’m not just picking on Fruit Loops, Special K, and Corn Flakes.
I’m speaking to the whole refined cereal category.
The cereal category is a big reason why 1 in 4 children are overweight or obese with links to diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease.
It’s time to make a change in your family’s diet.
This all starts with the first thing you feed yourself in the day.
Remember, the first meal sets the stage for how healthy you eat for the rest of the day.
If you’ve been watching our Live Lean TV YouTube channel for a while now, you know I highly recommend you eat my PFF breakfast as your first meal of the day.
You can eat this first thing in the morning, or if you follow intermittent fasting, as your first meal of the day.
However, since I’m a realist, I know you’re busy.
Therefore, I know it’s important for some of you to just have a quick, healthy, and easy cereal option.
Based on this, I wanted to share this low carb cereal recipe option that has a similar macronutrient breakdown to my favorite PFF meals.
Once again, say hello to the super jacked, high protein Live Lean paleo cereal.
This low carb cereal recipe is not only filled with flavor, it’s also filled with muscle building protein and hunger crushing healthy fats.
