Without further ado, let’s get started.
A few weeks ago, America celebrated National French Fry Day.
This makes sense since close to a half of all harvested potatoes are deep fried in cooking oil.
On average, we eat over 130 pounds of potatoes, per person, per year.
Pure carbohydrates and grease.
Damn that’s good.
Based on this well deserved day of celebration, a survey was taken to find out which fast food restaurant has the best french fries in America.
Before reading any further, scroll down to the comment section below, and let me know which restaurant do you think Americans voted as having the best french fries?
Yes, if you guessed McDonald’s, you were right.
34% of American’s voted McDonald’s as having the best french fries.
How does this rank on a nutrition scale?
Well, if you’re strictly comparing calorie vs. calorie of french fries, surprisingly a small order of french fries from McDonald’s is a decent option.
As you can see, a small order of McDonald’s french fries is not going to blow out your macros.
However, I do get a little freaked out when I look at the ingredients, filled with chemicals and lots of inflammatory fats.
From a calorie standpoint, a small order of McDonald’s french fries is a much better option than the worst french fries I could find from Five Guys Fries.
Here is the nutrition facts on an order of large fries from Five Guys Fries:
With all that said, should you always avoid these salty, crispy, and delicious treats?
No.
Here’s a quick, healthy, easy, affordable, and delicious homemade sweet potato french fries recipe for you to try.
