On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, Jessica and I share fun ideas on what to do on an active rest day.
This was a question from #AskLiveLeanTV Ep. 010.
@ciscoballs on Snapchat asks: I’m wondering what are the best things to do on an active rest day? What’s a day off for you and Jess like?
Before we get into today’s answer, I want to first share a quick little announcement that we only shared with our newsletter subscribers.
We just launched a 50% off sale on Jessica’s no equipment, follow along home workout video program, Build A Butt 2.0, when you use coupon code: BLOG50 at checkout.
In addition to this, we are also offering 50% off my no equipment, follow along home workout video program, Live Lean 15 when you use coupon code: BLOG50 at checkout.
Since I know a lot of our blog viewers are not signed up to our free newsletter, I wanted to also hook you up with the same 50% off discount on those two programs.
Let’s get you back on the Live Lean train.
So what does our day off from working out look like?
Good question.
We’ve shared an awesome video showing what we do on our active rest day, here.
On our active rest days we like to:
As you can see, even though it is a rest day, we are still staying active, because the need for movement is just in our blood.
I just can’t handle sitting on the couch all day, without any physical activity.
If I did this, I would be so cranky and I’d be eating all kinds of bad foods.
We find the more sedentary life you live, the more bad food cravings you’ll have.
A lot of people ask us what’s a good way to get over junk food cravings.
One perfect way to do it is to do more active things and get busy.
The days where I don’t do anything, are the days where I eat bad.
This is the worst combination since you’re not as active, so your body doesn’t need those extra calories.
Then have you ever noticed that when you’re active, you actually prefer to eat healthy foods?
Exercise and activity can help your brain work differently.
After a hard workout, rather than sabotaging yourself with unhealthy food, most people actually want to come home and rejuvenate themselves with healthy nutrients.
Again, if you missed it, here’s a link to the video where we show you what an active rest day looks like for us.
It’s a pretty sick video as we had a videographer help us with wide angle shots and really cool drone footage.
Hopefully this inspires you with ideas on what you should do on your active rest day.
Remember, a big part of Living Lean is having fun.
Living Lean is not just about training in the gym to look good, feel good, and get stronger.
It’s also about applying that new found strength to other functional activities, so you can enjoy your life more.
