What’s My Body Type?

How can you figure out your body type and shape?

Everyone has unique genetics that can play a big role in their journey to living lean. In this video I share with you my body shape as well as my body type and what I’ve learned about my unique needs that have helped me to be more successful in my journey to living lean.

You may need to modify your training and/or nutrition based on these findings.

There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all fitness or nutrition plan. Everyone is unique and individual and different strategies and techniques work differently for different people. We also all come from different starting points but we’re all going to the same place: Living Lean. One of the main factors you may need to pay closer attention to is your body type. This means, are you an Ectomorph, Mesomorph or Endomorph? You can find out by taking a simple quiz: https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/becker3.htm

Or you can probably just guess fairly accurately based on what you have observed throughout your life. If you tend to gain weight easily you are an Endomorph, if you tend to be naturally lean and muscular you’re a Mesomorph, and if you have a hard time gaining muscle and are more thin and frail, then you are likely an Ectomorph. When I took the quiz it came up as 63% Ectomorph, which means I am primarily Ectomorph. I’ve known this for quite some time. when I first started training I was actually overdoing it with 10-14 workouts per week and under doing it with my calories being below 1200 per day. I was of the mindset that more is more when it comes to workouts and less is more when it comes to diet. I quickly found out that this approach wasn’t right for me, but then I way over compensated by eating too much and limiting my workouts too severely. It took me several years before I found the right balance for my own body.

It may seem like you are stuck with what you’ve got, but you’ve got to believe you have the power to change it.
